Get Ready, Get Set, Almost Go...

So it's almost here only hours away until my feature at My Giveaway Today. It's been 6 weeks in the making and I am so anxious to see how it will turn out. I never realized how long it would take to actually be featured, which is a good thing, I guess. Hopefully it means they have a large following and therefore I will, too. This owning my own business thing has been fun, but it's also a bit stressful when it comes to advertising. Sometimes you just have to jump into the belly of the beast and hope you survive.

So I'm asking you, my faithful followers, please support me tomorrow. Tell your friends, family, coworkers anyone you can about the Giveaway and my little crochet business. I would so appreciate it!

Want to know what I'm giving away, well here you go:
3 gift certificates of $45.00, $25.00 and $15.00 toward any items in my shop.

Plus my Emma Flower Clip Pairs will be 40% off tomorrow only. So if you were thinking of buying some now is a great time!

If your interested follow this link My Giveaway Today starting at 12:02 am and ending at midnight. Good Luck!

Yes...older girls like them too!

I was recently told by a friend of mine that her girls had out grown my products. I was a little flabbergasted since I wear my products pretty much every day. Does that make me immature?

So it got me thinking...do people realize that anyone can where the flower clips? If you look at my photos you would never know, seeing as most of the shots are of children. So I asked a couple of my YW to come over for a little photo shoot to showcase the flower clips in a new light. Of course I could of just turned the camera around and took some photos of me, but that didn't sound like a lot of fun. So hijacked them after church and we had a lot of fun together. I seriously am amazed with the shots I was able to get, seeing as I was laughing so hard the camera was totally shaking.

And to my friend, I hope these photos prove that you are never to old to wear a pretty little flower in your hair, lol! Enjoy the pictures...

Fun photoshoot!

My little niece hung out with me this morning and let me snap a few product photos. For being only 3 she amazed me with how good she was. She sat, stayed and smiled at all the right times. I just love her!

Being Unique

In a business like mine it is hard to be unique.  It seems that every day someone has copied my work, called it their own, and makes a profit. To stand out among all the competition is always a bit daunting, but not impossible.
On our recent family vacation my daughter fell in love with hunting. Hunting seashells that is. Every moment we could find her on the beach collecting little shells. All of them were the exact same kind except one. This one little shell was so beautiful and delicate...in a league all its own. And that got me thinking. Yeah there could be hundreds of items that look like mine, but they won't be from me. For I am unique and everything I make comes directly from me. So there may be copycats, but if you look extra hard you will find the subtle difference that is Treasured by Holly! And to say thank you to all my loyal customers I am offering another Giveaway. So check out my Giveaway page for all the details, Good Luck!

Solids

As of late I have received several emails wanting me to sell a few headbands in solid colors. I agree that it was a fantastic idea and have put some in my shop. I have a few more to make so don't think that is all there will be, lol. I have a list of all your suggestions and I will get to them as soon as I can, but for now here you go!

Treasury

My headbands were chosen twice yesterday to be a part of a Treasury on Etsy. I was so excited and deeply honored. And if your asking, "What is a Treasury?" here you go...

The Treasury is an ever-changing, member-curated shopping gallery of handpicked items. Members can feature their favorite items, items selected on a theme or just whatever they like. The Treasury is not intended for self-promotion, but instead to acknowledge and share the many cool things for sale on Etsy. Etsy’s staff (“Admin”) often choose whole or partial exceptional Treasury lists to promote to the featured, handpicked items on Etsy’s home page. Treasury lists are temporary and limited in number, so there is some competition involved in creating a list of your own. (copied from Etsy)

Isn't that cool, well, I think it is! And if you want to check out the ones that my headband was chosen for click on the following links:

This last Treasury has the most amazingly bright colors. My favorite item has to be the Citrus Rose Pleated Bag
So adorably cute!

What a difference a click makes...

It's always amazing to me the amount of information we have at our fingertips. Type in two little words and you have pages upon pages of information. My two little words this week...Light Box. I was able to choose between hundreds of tutorials and the one I chose was awesome. It was easy to read and after only a couple hours I had built a somewhat exact replica. The only frustrating part was trying to locate the right light bulbs because they do make a world of difference. At first I thought I had purchased correctly until I started taking pictures and got all depressed when they came out horrible. It took me three stores, but I found the right ones at Target (love that store) of all places.

The finished box...

I just can't believe what a difference it makes with my products. Here's a before...

and after...

The colors are so true to the actual product, at least on my monitor, I can't get enough of it. The hard part now is to re-take all of my pictures. It's a little time consuming, but I'm having so much fun I hardly notice. So here's 3 cheers to the Internet for making all of our lives a little easier!
